Hosting
Meals
The ladies of the church support one another by providing meals to men and women who have just returned home from being hospitalized for major surgery or moms who have just given birth. This is often facilitated by our small group leaders.
Encouragement
Secret Pals
The Secret Pal ministry is by far one of the most exciting ministries of our church. Each lady in this ministry learns about, prays for, and encourages another lady of our church. To learn how you can be part of this ministry contact Heidi Wolowiec. pals@marillabaptist.org
Prayer Chain
The prayer chain is a vital ministry of the First Baptist Church of Marilla. We believe there is power in prayer and that the Lord hears the prayers of his children. Currently, we have a prayer chains through One Call Now, a phone message delivery service, which contacts everyone on the prayer chain in minutes when a prayer request is sent out. If you would like to be part of our prayer team contact the church office today! prayer@marillabaptist.org
Softball
The women’s softball season begins in May and runs through mid August. The team is designed for those who are 16 and older. Contact the church office for details. ladysoftball@marillabaptist.org
Adorning
The ladies of the church have taken on the special task of decorating the church throughout the year. This includes the fellowship hall to coordinate with special programs or the season of the year under the direction of LaVern Hoehman. In addition, flowers are placed on the communion table each week to “adorn” the auditorium for worship as well as special decorations at Christmas.
Reaching Out
Mom's Morning Out
Mom's Morning Out is an outreach ministry for mothers of our community, as well those from our church. MMO takes place on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 - 11:30 (October thru May). This ministry is designed for mothers who have children who are 3&4 years old. MMO teaches children colors, ABC's, Songs, and Bibles stories. For more information contact Sherri Tait. mmo@marillabaptist.org
Special Seminars
Once a quarter a special interest seminar such as gardening, health concerns or craft project is planned for the ladies of our church. In addition, once a year we host a large outreach event which includes a special speaker (author or singer) for the purpose of reaching the lost women of our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For more information contact the church office. fbcm@marillabaptist.org
We also have a monthly Scrapbooking club - Heidi Tait and Judy Schulze coordinate it and a monthly Garden Club - Fran Stoffel and Hazel Dabb coordinate those.
Grandmothers, Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Aunts - Women’s Day
Each year, usually around Mother’s Day, we have a special event for ladies and girls of all ages for the purpose of celebrating God’s creation of women. This is a time to reflect on our purpose and to challenge women and girls to follow God’s plan for women.
